It is our intention to create/acquire somewhere to enable us to make available the material we have for you to see, this may be of use to Bus enthusiasts or even Family Historians as we have many ledgers/records of staff back to 1900.
As a start we have published below a list of all the trams/buses as recorded in documents we have up to when Grampian took over NCT, later to become part of First Bus.
Note - the tables below are not suitable for viewing on phones for the time being, sorry, will update as soon as possible
Northampton Transport Fleet List
This list is taken from the records we have managed to save from the old St James Depot Offices.
The list comprises the year of introduction, fleet number, body, seating and where known the start date of the vehicle being introduced

From 21st October 1901 the horse tramways were operated by the Northampton Corporation who took over the
Abington Street Depot and the following cars -
3, 15, 16, 1, 2, 4-9, 11-14, 20-25 and horse buses 17-19
The 1907 Horse Bus was run under the new Northampton Corporation until 1915

The list above are all the vehicles used by Northampton Corporation and its predecessors. During that time a number of other buses were used from other local authorities, particularily when a vandall broke into the St James Depot and broke many windows on the buses parked inside, also when the River Nene flooded and it reached into the depot and surrounding roads - on both occaisions neighbouring authorities loaned buses to make sure some services ran for the subsequent days.
Some of the vehicles in the above list, when taken over by First Bus were renumbered into the general First numbering scheme.
