Well, we had a fabulous weekend and it seems so did you! It seems you love what we do; providing heritage buses to take you on trip down memory lane!! Many of you of course love our traditional open platform Northampton buses, but increasingly many of you also love our “younger” buses. The open topper “Lady Patricia” kindly brought over from Rushden by Diamond coaches proved a big hit on our additional short tours. We received overwhelmingly positive comments from passengers and passers by alike, the only negative comments were why the Tourist Information and Sessions House were not open on arguably Northampton’s busiest tourist weekend of the year! But that is outside of our control. It was fantastic to see H654 VVV return to home territory after many years away in Hampshire. Brought back to Northamptonshire in may she is now back in United Counties Stagecoach stripes livery and this weekend was her first time carrying passengers in the county since her return, and despite a misbehaving wiper, she performed perfectly. A big thank you must go to Mike Edmunds who as ever very kindly supports us by bringing 246, Bob Pain with 311 and Hamiltons, and Diamond Coaches for their continuing support. Of course the event could not happen with out our core of member volunteers who work tirelessly, whether it is on the stall, conducting, driving or providing the maintenance on the vehicles, it is a team effort, and when we see the satisfaction on the faces of all you who travel or just watch the vehicles go by, then we know it has been worthwhile! You don’t have to wait until next year though to see our buses, you can do it all again on the 23rd of September on the Market Square, see our events section. Until then, thank you!
