A gathering of classic buses with a Northamptonshire connection to celebrate the 50th year of JVV 267G N0 267, Northampton Corporation Transport’s, and Britain’s last traditional front engine, rear open platform double decker bus ever built for the UK market. The early rain didn’t dampen the spirits of volunteers, crews, enthusiasts or the general public alike, and the clouds moved over to produce some fine sunshine in the afternoon to give a memorable day. We are asked repeatedly if we do this every year, or will be we be doing this next year? Well, it seems as though we probably will given the way it was received. The public loved it! Thanks must go to Northampton Borough Council for allowing us to use the Market Square, and to Stagecoach, UNO, Diamond Coaches and Country Lion for supplying their vehicles and drivers, NCC, Stagecoach and UNO for allowing us to use Bay 17 for the bus trips. Thanks must also be given to our friends at Leicester Transport Heritage Trust for bringing the S22 & S23, and Mick Gamble with the Browns Blue RT, the 794 group for their support and all the other owners who braved the initial weather and helped make the day so very special, and of course all of you who either made a special effort to be there, or just happened to pass by, thank you! We had a great day.
