Sunday 11 July 2021 – Evesham Vale Light Railway                                                                                      Bus 267

A visit to this light railway at Evesham Garden Centre for their Historic Vehicle event. A chance to ride on the railway, visit the garden centre or use the shuttle bus into Evesham to explore the town and the riverside. More details in due course.

Sunday 18 July 2021 – Ruddington                                                                                                                   Bus 154

Visit the Great Central Railway North at Ruddington for the Nottingham Area Bus Society Running Day. Classic buses will operate local free rides and the heritage train service will be in operation. Admission charges apply.

Depart from Victoria Street at 0800 hours                                      To arrive back at Victoria Street around 1900 hours

Sunday 25 July 2021 – Fenland BusFest                                                                                                         Bus 654

A return to this popular and busy bus rally and running day based at Whittlesey with frequent free bus services running to Peterborough, Thorney, Turves and Yaxley and frequent services to Ramsey where the popular classic car show will be taking place.

Depart from Victoria Street at 0800 hours                                    Return from Whittlesey at 1700 hours to arrive back at Victoria Street around 1900 hours 

Sunday 8 August 2021 – Members Outing to Market Harborough and Foxton Locks                                       Bus 154

Back by popular demand a repeat trip to Foxton Locks. Located on the Leicester line of the Grand Union Canal about 5 km west of the Leicestershire market town of Market Harborough, comprise ten canal locks consisting of two staircases each of five locks and are named after the nearby village of Foxton. The Grade II listed locks were built between 1810 and 1814 to replace a boat lift that lowered and raised boats in a metal trough and are a popular tourist attraction. The remains of the lift can be seen on site and there is talk of restoring the facility. The County Council has created a country park at the top of the flights whilst at the bottom where the junction with the arm to Market Harborough is located, there are two public houses, a shop, trip boat and other facilities.

Sunday 22 August 2021 – Matlock Bath and Peak Park Preserved Bus Gathering                                     Bus 654

A chance to visit Derbyshire. The bus will drop off and pick up at Matlock Bath if required. This inland resort has riverside walks and is home to a Mining Museum, The Heights of Abraham with its cable car link and underground cavern tours and to Gullivers Kingdom.  The Peak Park Gathering is held at Rowsley station and usually attracts around 50 classic vehicles. There is the opportunity to ride on the Peak Rail preserved railway line (fares are payable) to Matlock and free bus rides are available to Matlock, Bakewell and Chatsworth House.

Return from Rowsley at 1700 hours to arrive back at Victoria Street around 2000 hours 

Saturday and Sunday 11/12 September 2021 – Heritage Open Days                                                Various Buses

The date for Heritage Open Days bus services will be the traditional second weekend in September. More details in due course.

Sunday 19 September 2021 – 100 Years of United Counties Omnibuses                                                    Various Buses

Our third rally and running day based on the Market Square. This year we will be commemorating the centenary of the United Counties company being registered on 24 September 1921. More details in due course.
